About Our Ministry

Worldwide Voice in the Wilderness exists to proclaim the Gospel of Jesus Christ, restore families, and bring hope to those in prisons and communities around the world.

For more than 50 years, WVIW has ministered in Texas prisons, conducted marriage seminars for inmates and correctional officers, and served internationally in Cuba, Honduras, Mexico, and beyond. Our work is always intended to provide lasting spiritual transformation — both immediately and for generations to come.

We focus our resources on discipleship, restoration, leadership development, and evangelism while strengthening marriages and equipping believers for service.

Dr. Johnny Moffitt and his wife Betty have faithfully served in prison ministry and international outreach for decades. Their passion is restoring families, encouraging inmates, and equipping pastors worldwide.

Their ministry has impacted thousands of lives across Texas correctional facilities and international mission fields.

Founder & President

Dr. Johnny Moffitt’s life is a story of transformation and purpose. Once living a life far from faith, Johnny experienced a profound change through Christ and dedicated his life to serving others. For over 40 years, he has traveled across Texas, the United States, and the world, bringing hope, encouragement, and the message of God’s love to prisoners, families, and communities in need.

Johnny is the founder and director of Worldwide Voice in the Wilderness (WVIW), leading prison ministries, marriage seminars, and international missions. He has authored the book DELIVERED, sharing his personal journey and the power of God’s grace.

Through his ministry, Johnny has trained pastors, led crusades, and spoken to thousands of individuals in challenging circumstances. His passion is helping people experience redemption, restore families, and embrace a life of faith and purpose.

Co-Founder & Executive Director

Betty Moffitt has faithfully partnered with Johnny in building Worldwide Voice in the Wilderness (WVIW). Her heart for ministry focuses on strengthening families, supporting couples, and encouraging individuals through marriage seminars, prison outreach, and community programs.

For decades, Betty has worked alongside Johnny, providing teaching, mentorship, and guidance to those facing difficult circumstances. Her commitment to restoring relationships and nurturing hope has left a lasting impact on countless lives.

Betty’s work emphasizes compassion, practical support, and the transformative power of faith. She continues to lead marriage seminars in Texas prisons, assist international ministry trips, and create programs that help families grow stronger in God’s love.
