Correctional Officers Update

This weekend’s Marriage Seminar is under way and Betty and I are very excited. We really do look forward all year to getting to this weekend.

We have the honor of serving this weekend 6 Correctional Officers and their spouses. They are hardworking and often times find themselves in a very tough spot at home because of their work.

We want to be a support and an encouragement to the entire system of corrections and want to become a part of the betterment of marriages and relationships no matter the circumstances.

Thank you to the volunteer couples who have come this weekend to help Betty and I . Without our excellent group of volunteer team members, we could not do what we do.

Please keep us in your prayers this weekend.

Thank You

Johnny Moffitt

Marriage Seminar Update

Thank you for you prayer and support for our efforts here at the Jester 3 Unit.

We have had a great time Friday and Saturday.

We have already heard so many inspiring stories of marriages being strengthened and reinforced. Forgiveness and recommitment are at the forefront of our seminar this weekend.

“We are getting healthy for ourselves, our spouses, and our children!”

Several men shared last night how excited they were to see their wives dedicate or recommit their lives to God.

Please keep us in your prayers today as we finish our last day of this seminar. We are so glad to be here and Sunday always means a lot to all of the couples as well as our volunteers.

WVIW Marriage Seminar Volunteers

WVIW hosts between 4 and 5 Marriage Seminars in prisons and for prison staff every year. Each marriage seminar is planned very similarly, however, each one turns out very uniquely.

This uniqueness comes for a variety of reasons one of the main being our volunteers.

Each volunteer comes to Worldwide Voice In the Wilderness from a different background and for several different reasons. I think it is safe to say that one attribute that is shared by ALL of our volunteers is that GOD has shown Himself to each volunteer in a HUGE way in their lives.

A comment by a dear friend to our ministry this week made a huge impact in summing up what it means to be a volunteer for @wviw

There are those whose lives affect all others around them. Quietly touching one heart, who in turn, touches another. Reaching out to ends further than they would ever know.

Below are a few comments from several Marriage Seminar Volunteers which may explain why they keep coming back to help us host these highly impactful seminars.

“I told God you Gotta show me how to change and boy did He show me." B.G.

"My self esteem was down below my toes. I was a very broken person who didn’t think God could love me but He gave my life meaning and purpose. When everything was falling apart God didn’t leave me.” B.C.G.

“I love Jesus cause he let’s me be me. I found out I could be a Christian and be myself.” C.N.

“I love the Lord for delivering me and for saving me. He revealed himself to me over the years time, after time, after time. I didn’t want to go the right direction but He boxed me in and didnt let me go.” N.N.

“[When I grew Up] God was never spoken of unless it was in a curseword. I was in jail and I began to learn that God loved me and He wanted me. I was so bad and He still wanted meSo I will spend every day of my life loving him back.” N.A.

Thank you for your support and prayers for this ministry.

2011 at a glance

Thank you for being a part of our ministry

Well, 2011 is about over.  It has been a great year for WVIW.  We had several successful Marriage Seminars as well as several special services in prisons.  I also preached in several churches across America.  It was a special blessing to be able to travel to England and preach for the European Conference of the Full Gospel Fellowship of Churches and Ministers.

2011 was a very special year for WVIW in the area of recognition of this ministry.  In July Betty and I received the Ray Chamberlin Award as Missionaries of the Year from the Full Gospel Fellowship of Churches and Ministers.  Then in November Betty received the Chaplain Ray Hoekstra Lifetime Achievement Award from the Coalition Of  Prison Evangelists.

Betty was named Chief Operating Officer of WVIW by the board of directors, and Travis was named Apprentice Director of WVIW and Director of our international ministry, Connect Global, which we launched this year.

Travis and Javier made a trip to Honduras where they built five fish farms for five families.  These farms produce fish and vegetables for a family for life at no cost to the family.  Connect Global has plans to build 100 of these farms in the village of Cusuna alone.  They will return in March to build ten more.  You can provide a family with food for life with a gift of $500.  Learn more about this project by visiting our web site, www.wviw.com.

2012 is gearing up to be very busy and very Successful.

Our Marriage Seminar schedule is already full for 2012.  We will have four seminars for inmates and one for officers.  The seminar for officers is half funded.  We need another $7,000 to fully fund it.  The inmate seminars cost $6,000 each.  Perhaps you could give that to fund one of these wonderful seminars.  Or maybe give a part of the funds needed.  Maybe you could give a portion each month to see a couple save their marriage.  Please pray about what God would have you do.

Marriage Seminar Ellis Unit

Thank God for his presence this weekend! We had such a blessed time in prison at the Ellis Unit for our marriage seminar.

All together we had 16 couples complete this seminar. Lives were changed, marriages restored, and new commitments made.

I want to personally thank you for supporting our ministry and our efforts in the state prisons! This ministry could not exist without the dedication of not only our volunteers but our donors and partner churches as well.

Thank you First Baptist of Huntsville, The Methodist church for the food friday, and to the Ellis Unit Staff. We had a very successful weekend and look forward to even more praise reports from this weekend.

Here below is a slideshow of the photos from this weekend!

Breakthrough Group

Below are several reactions to day 2 of our marriage seminar at Ellis Unit. We spent all day in prison and had such a fantastic day!

Tonight were at the First Baptist Church listening to the wives and I am amazed and blessed by these heroes!

Here is a sample of what they had to say tonight!

“It pulled even more layers away for me…that is a good thing.”

“The healing began this weekend!”

“Im gonna leave here a better person. A more free person."

"The old me was a very mean person…I have been declawed”

“I had a breakthrough tonight!!”

Veterans Day Prayer

Dear Lord,
Today we honor our veterans,
worthy men and women
who gave their best
when they were called upon
to serve and protect their country.
We pray that you will bless them, Lord,
for their unselfish service
in the continual struggle
to preserve our freedoms, our safety,
and our country’s heritage, for all of us.
Bless them abundantly
for the hardships they faced,
for the sacrifices they made
for their many different contributions
to America’s victories
over tyranny and oppression.
We respect them, we thank them,
we honor them, we are proud of them,
and we pray that you will watch over
these special people
and bless them with peace and happiness.
In Jesus’ name we pray; Amen.By Joanna Fuchs
