TDCJ requires anyone wishing to volunteer in the prisons to attend a training session every 2 years.  The first time you must attend a live session; two years later it can be done online.  Then 2 years later it must be live again.

There will be a TDCJ volunteer training Saturday, April 27, from 8:00 am – 12:00 pm, at Gateway Church in Southlake.  The training will be in the Guest Central Room.   Guest Central is located near the center of the main lobby of the church.  

You do not need to have an approval letter from the state, and you don’t have to have applied before attending.  You may fill out an application while you are here.

If you are an approved TDCJ Volunteer, and you have not been back through training since April of 2011, you can renew at this training.  Please call Aubrey and tell her you are coming if you need to attend a live training.
